Rob Woodward has lathe-turned beautiful wood vessels since the early 1980s. He mastered the art of creating laminated bowls from woods such as Hawaiian Koa, Jacaranda, Lychee, Pheasant wood and Mango. He also sources other sustainable exotic woods from around the world such as Zebrawood, American Holly and Yellow Heart.
Laminating wood is the process by which slices of wood are planed smooth and then glued together. The glued chunk of wood is then lathe-turned to form the vessel. The extraordinary designs of each laminated bowl come from the various layers of wood that are sealed together, and the masterful craftsmanship of Rob Woodward's lathe-turning expertise.
