Martin & MacArthur is honored to feature the raku and ceramic works of Hawaii’s finest craftsmen. Will and Kate Jacobson create raku vessels with a low firing technique. They are widely recognized as the originators of Naked Raku. The duo uses mica and terra sigilatta to create the deep luster of the surface of the raku.
Mark McKay is a Maui craftsman who as created a series of beautiful Koi in a variety of colors. These ceramic koi look great outside of the water on a counter top, desk or table. They also can be put into ponds to give the impression of fish swimming lazily on the bottom. No feeding necessary.
Rauyl Nakayama creates delightful ceramic dishes shaped like the beautiful flowers of Hawaii. Rauyl individually hand-paints each flower dish with varying colors to reflect the actual Hawaiian Plumeria, Anthuriums, Hibiscus, and Lotus flowers. These flower dishes are food safe and can be used to hold ice cream, dips, or any delectable treat.
