Big Island glass master Daniel Moe creates exquisite blown glass sculptures inspired by the powerful volcanoes and the towering waves off Hawaii shores. Daniel and wife Madhava live in an area not far from where active volcano flows actually occur. They have heard the thundering rumble of the ground exploding as magma bursts through the surface of the crater, setting ablaze everything in its path. Daniel sees how waves off the coast of the Big Island roar towards the jagged shoreline. It is these personal experiences that are seeded into every one of Daniel’s blown glass sculptures we are so proud to feature.

Glass artisan Ben Silver dreams about the legendary waves roaring on the North Shores of Hawaii. These famed Hawaiian waves inspired Ben to create his own unique style of glass waves in four different sizes. Not surprising, Ben’s waves look best in multiples, reflecting the actual waves from which they were inspired. Ben also creates  sea shells in a myriad of colors found in the deep blue Pacific. Ben also applies his intuitive gifts to create glass sculptures of majestic humpback whales, dolphins and old-fashioned ship’s anchors.

Hawaii artist Jim Graper loves walking along Hawaii’s beaches and tide pools early in the morning, seeing the natural treasures that are revealed at low tide. Jim goes home to create glass sea shells, star fish and whale tails, inspired by what he sees. These smaller glass sculptures are perfect for smaller gifts and accent pieces. All made in Hawaii, of course.

Innovative glass craftsman Caleb Nichols finds the beauty in unexpected contrasts. Caleb creates his own unique art form of smashed glass vessels that are a mash up of broken pieces of colored glass, melted together to form vessels. Light refracts and pivots in all directions from Caleb’s vessels. Every one of these smashed glass sculptures is an inspiring, unique work of art.

Hawaii glass artist Marian Fieldson has perfected the technique of slumping glass on the actual hardened surfaces of old lava flows on the Big Island. She combines various hues of glass and gold flecks to create her unique pieces in a wide variety of sizes and price points. After you’ve seen Marian’s work you’ll agree, no one creates glass like her.
