Our Hawaii craftsmen create solid Koa Bishop boxes as a tribute to Princess Bernice Pauahi Bishop, member of the Hawaiian royalty.

The beautiful lid of our Bishop Box lifts up and tucks into the back of the box. No unsightly hinges can be seen, allowing the proud owner to enjoy the beautiful craftsmanship of the box without seeing obtrusive metal hardware.

Our Bishop Boxes are made with solid, Koa wood with amazing color variation. The splines and lid knob are made with accent woods like Wenge and Maple. In early Hawaii, Koa was the wood of the Monarchs and Ali’i. Koa was used by the warriors of King Kamehameha, the Great, to create canoes and weapons. It is also the wood used to make the longboard surfboards used by legendary Duke Kahanamoku.

For over 60 years, we have been the fine Koa furniture makers of Hawaii. We only use Koa wood from previously fallen trees. We never cut down any trees. In fact, we are a leader in Koa reforestation in Hawaii.
